This page serves as a way to post links to irc://irc.dal.net/#geekpolitics on sites that don’t support non-HTTP URIs. For example, many blog comment systems convert “irc://irc.dal.net/#webdev” to “http://irc//irc.dal.net/#webdev”, which browsers then interpret as “http://www.irc.com//irc.dal.net/#webdev”. If you aren’t familiar with IRC, you can check out the Wikipedia article about it – or jump right in with an IRC client like ChatZilla (my favorite). (Alternatively, you could just use DALnet’s Java-based webchat at first.) DALnet also has a nice newbie guide.
