ChanServ
![]()
Identify
Command syntax:
/chanserv identify #channel PasswordHere
Command description
This command will identify the user as the channel
Founder of the specified #channel to ChanServ database.
The Founder can then carry out channel protection
settings such as mode locks (mlock) and other channel
modes to strengthen channel security.
Command example
If you wish to identify as channel Founder of your registered
channel called #Sibuop and the valid channel password is
Go0DPass, then the command is:
/chanserv identify #sibuop go0DPass
Special requirement
There is no special requirement.
Comments
The password is Case-Sensitive and if it is correctly entered,
ChanServ will notify you of having successfully identified as
channel Founder to the channel. You will then have the full
access (Level 5) to the channel.
If you have forgotten your channel password, then you may
have to use <SendPass> command to obtain a reminder.
However, if you have activated <MailBlock> command for
your channel, then you have to learn the tough lesson of its
consequences. Even if your <MailBlock> option is not set,
you are required to remember your FounderNick password.
The correct email address set for your FounderNick is also
required (you can check this if you know your FounderNick
password).
