DALnet #Sibu Channel - Guides on Services Command

                              ChanServ

                         SOp

Command syntax:

     /chanserv  SOP  #channel  ADD  nick

     /chanserv  SOP  #channel  ADD  user@host.mask

     /chanserv  SOP  #channel  LIST

     /chanserv  SOP  #channel  DEL nick

     /chanserv  SOP  #channel  DEL #

     /chanserv  SOP  #channel  WIPE

Command description

These commands allow channel Founder to manage the

list  of  SuperOp  (SOp) in the  channel.  If  an  user  is

trustworthy  to be  given  special  privileges and certain

level of power in the channel, then the channel Founder

may add the nick of  that user to  become a  SOp in the

channel. The methods of  adding SOps to the  ChanServ

database  can  either  be  plain  and  simple nick or the

user's hostmask.

Similarly, the channel Founder can delete any SOp from

the list, hence removing the deleted  user's privilege in

the  channel.  The  channel  Founder  may  remove  the

whole SOp's list by using the WIPE command argument.

ALL users with AOp level of ACCESS in the channel will

be able  to  view the list by  using the  LIST command

argument.

Command examples

If you wish to add <Edify> as SOp to #Sibuop channel,

you will type either one of the following commands:

   /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop  ADD  <Edify>

   /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop  ADD  Hornbill@sibu.com.my

(Note : if <Edify> is connected with a randomly

generated IP hostmask, then the second

command format (IP hostmask) cannot be used)

If you wish to view the SOp list of #Sibuop channel, you

will type:

     /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop  LIST

» The user may narrow down the listing if search pattern

is included after the command argument LIST.

   e.g. /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop  LIST  *!*@sibu.com.my

This will generate a listing of  SOps whose host.mask

   match sibu.com.my

If you wish to remove <Edify> from SOp list, you would

type either one of the following commands:

     /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop  DEL  <Edify>

     /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop  DEL  18

(assuming that <Edify> was listed as No. 18 in the

        list generated by using command:

                     /chanserv SOP #Sibuop LIST                )

     /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop  DEL  Hornbill@sibu.com.my

(assuming <Edify>'s hostmask is shown in the LIST)

If you are  the  channel Founder  and  wish  to delete the

entire SOp list, you will use the following command:

     /chanserv  SOP  #Sibuop   WIPE

Special requirement

1) The ADD, DEL, and WIPE commands are accessible by

    channel Founder only.

2) The  LIST  command  is accessible by anyone who has

ACCESS in the channel (from AOp onward).

3) Only duly registered nick can be added as SOp.

Comments

Much like a channel autoOp (AOp), SuperOp (SOp) will be

given all rights that AOp can exercise in the channel. The

SOp will have additional rights/power such as:

1) maintaining  AOp's  ACCESS  list by adding or deleting

    any individual AOp

2) setting or removing AKICKs (permanent bans)  for the

    channel

3) removing "all" bans from the channel using  Chanserv

    UNBAN command.

4) receiving memos sent to channel SOps using:

         /memoserv sendSOp MessageHere
