Greetings to dear fellow channel operators,

Welcome aboard to #Sibu Oppies' family, especially to

those who are new. By now you are aware of our

@Opping system and it is periodically reviewed so that

our system will stay innovative and trendy. Give your

suggestion to channel @SOps and together we can

build a better channel if it is not already the best.

In the interest of maintaining channel integrity, the number of @SOps are  selected and restricted. This is to prevent unauthorised appointment of new @Operators as well as eliminating pressure from channel visitors pestering for @Operators status.

Channel @Ops who have not been regular or have shown signs of incompetent in their duties will be removed so that other regular users have a chance to experience it.

The current @Opping system will continue. As an existing Channel @Op, you can recommend someone to become new @Op. However, it is necessary to bear in mind that any recommendation will require some measures of "filtration" exercise. Existing channel @Ops will comment or support or reject the recommended candidate. This process may be done in "secret" and only the channel Management team members will have access to it. If the recommended candidate(s) has/have no negative comments received and is/are indeed regular guests of the channel, the prospective candidate will be eligible for selection by the channel Management team. The successful candidate will be added to the channel ACCESS list as @Op on probation and the probation period shall be three months from the confirmed date of selection. Any @Op who is on probation is known as a "probationer" and his/her ACCESS status  may be removed with or without any reasons given (generally this occur when the probationer showed signs of incompetency.

Please do take note that any memos sent to you by @SOps requesting your reply should be dealt with as soon as possible. Failure to reply, if so requested, will result in the removal of your access from the channel access list.

As an elected Channel @Op, you are representing channel as a channel staff. You are expected to demonstrate your outstanding quality to hold such a position in the channel and in doing so, you have to improve your own knowledge and skill in terms of Services commands (Chanserv, Nickserv, basic IRC control commands). We do not encourage channel staff to rely on downloaded scripts to control channel since we have channel bots which are capable of doing that.

The channel Homepage is not prepared for channel visitors only, but to you as well. If channel users are more knowledgeable than you in the ongoings affair of the channel, then perhaps that knowledgeable user should takeover your position. So do remember to update yourself from time to time by visiting our own channel Homepage.

"listen more and talk less and chances are you will act wisely"

Have fun :)
