Our @Oping System

Our current @oping system is basically following the tempo of a Waltz

("bom cha cha"). Each of these three steps has a key word:

   recommendation;  trial;   and selection.

We hope you are able to "dance" along with this tune ;)

Who are eligible for the recommendation?

1) those who are regular in the channel;

2) those who are friendly and peaceful;

3) those who knows and follows channel rules; and

4) those who has subscribed to "sibu-news" mailing list (not less than

    three months.

How does this @Oping system operate?

All channel @Ops are involved in the "Recommendation" process.

This follows by "Temp Op" who will undergo Training and Guidance.

The channel @Ops will observe and identify potential candidates.

An evaluation of candidates will be conducted after two month's trial.

Successful candidates will be approached by channel Management

team for final briefing before joining the @opies family.

A friendly reminder and cautions:-

"The wannabies" : By experience, majority of "wannabies" have less matured mentality and often unable to control over their personal emotions. Very few of these "wannabies" are able to turn their strong "appetite" into positive quest for greater responsibilities and fulfilling experience in life. The few who made it are the ones who are successful in life and are most likely to become good leaders. So you guys and gals who have been "begging"  to be added as a channel Operator, think again of what it means to be in that responsible position. What are your aims and goals in becoming a channel Operator? You want "status"? You want "power"?  ... are these your priority? ........ hmmm ..... you are welcome to share it in our sibu-news mailing list (eGroup). <--- by the way, all those aspire to become channel Operator has to be a member of this eGroup.

"The Pai Kia" : These are the people who "rob" and "steal" and they belong to the "caged animal" category. IRC is in a virtual reality environment and no sound minded human being should ever be affected by something does not exist. If you "shut-down" your computer operating system ... you are instantly back to the real world. Why are you so affected by IRC? It is a sure way to prove that you are mentally unsound and you are lack of ability to differentiate what is virtual and what is real.

How to differentiate the real and the virtual? In the real world, everything that happens will affect life (if you accidentally cut your finger, then you feel the hurt) and so if you throw a stone to break someone's window, it is likely that you may ended up in Police lockup. But in a virtual world, when you lose a computer game like in "half-life", you can always start a new game (or from last saved position). When DALnet Services is down and your own channel is being flooded, spammed, and in chaotic mess ... you can just leave the channel and go back to your real world (leave the channel and shut-down your PC) .... when you log on again in a few hours, all those mess no longer exist and you are in control again. Are you hurt? NO! ... You should ask yourself "why"? ..... The answer should be obvious ... it is not REAL.

Stay cool and be of sound mind .... take control of yourself and prepare to be more matured and responsible. If you can demonstrate this ... you are likely to become more ready for real responsibilities.

Does this interest you? Just remember the following :

The channel Opies are on the lookout for potential candidates and only those who are regulars, friendly, humble, considerate, and those who are familiar with basic IRC commands (preferably understand some basics of internet) to become new members of the ChanOps.

Warnings !  -  those who constantly requesting and harassing Opies to recommend them will NOT be welcomed.

In short, if you "request" or "demand", or "asking" for @op status, you will be "black-listed".

Please read the @Oping Guide for further information on this subject.
